Meditation

                 A Simple Meditation

Sit upright in a comfortable chair.

Close your eyes

Breathe in through your nose until you can take no more air and hold for 8 seconds if possible.

Breathe out through your mouth until all air is expelled.

Do this at least 5 times.    

Slowly and silently count down from 10 to 1 and feel yourself becoming more relaxed.

Continue to concentrate on your breath to push thoughts away.

Or

Choose a mantra and repeat silently whenever thoughts appear.

Continue for 20 - 30 minutes and slowly return to normal consciousness.

 

A Mantra Is:

 A Subtle sound vibration which through repetition aims at explanding one's awareness or consciousness.

Examples of Mantras:

Om

Om Tara

Ram

Shalom

Rama Rama

Sha - Ing

A Mantra is personal and should not be shared with others.
